Hi, I’m Emilia — proud dog mom, passionate recipe creator, and founder of RecipesDog.com.
This website started with a wagging tail, a worried heart, and a single bowl of food.
🐾 It All Began With Max
My journey into homemade dog food didn’t begin in a fancy kitchen or a nutrition lab. It started on the floor of my small apartment, next to Max — my sweet, clumsy Labrador with soulful eyes and a sensitive stomach. He was more than my dog. He was family.
But Max wasn’t thriving.
His coat was dull. His stomach was always upset. His energy was low, and I could tell something wasn’t right. I tried every “premium” kibble and expensive vet-recommended brand. They came in shiny bags with long ingredient lists, but none of them brought Max the relief or health he deserved.
I kept asking myself:
“If I wouldn’t eat this, why should he?”
🥕 From Kitchen Experiments to Canine Wellness
One evening, desperate to ease Max’s symptoms, I cooked him a meal: lightly cooked ground turkey, steamed carrots, and a spoonful of pumpkin. It wasn’t fancy, but it was fresh, real food — and something changed.
Max slept better. His coat softened. He played more, digested easier, and started looking like the happy dog I remembered. That first meal turned into a habit. A habit turned into a passion. And a passion became a mission — to help other dog parents nourish their pets with love and real ingredients.
Why I Created RecipesDog.com
RecipesDog.com is a space born out of love, trial and error, and endless tail wags. I realized there were thousands of people like me — dog parents who were tired of second-guessing every ingredient on store-bought labels.
You want to feed your dog better, but maybe:
- You don’t know where to start
- You worry about balancing nutrients
- You think it’s too expensive or time-consuming
- You’ve been told “real food is dangerous for dogs”
I’m here to show you that it’s not only possible — it’s powerful.
And it’s easier than you think.

💛 Real Food. Real Dogs. Real Results.
Since switching to homemade meals, Max’s transformation inspired countless others — friends, neighbors, Instagram followers — to give home cooking a try. I started writing recipes, answering questions, and even helping friends plan weekly dog menus.
Dogs of all breeds, ages, and health conditions started showing visible improvements — all from food that you and I could find at the local market.
I believe:
- Food is medicine — especially for dogs
- Real ingredients matter more than clever marketing
- You don’t need to be perfect — just consistent
- Cooking for your dog can be a joyful bonding experience
You don’t need to be a pet nutritionist or spend a fortune. Just start small, and your dog will guide the rest.
👩🍳 A Bit About Me (Beyond the Bowl)
Before RecipesDog.com, I worked in wellness content and spent most of my free time in the kitchen. I’ve always loved cooking — but it wasn’t until Max came into my life that I saw food as a bridge between love and healing.
I’ve completed hours of canine nutrition training, consulted with holistic vets, and spent years reading every label, food journal, and trusted resource I could get my hands on. What I learned, I now share with you — honestly, clearly, and from the heart.
When I’m not cooking for Max (and his furry friends), I’m usually writing, photographing recipes, or taking long walks with him while dreaming up new flavor combos for our four-legged readers.
