Simple, healthy, and delicious tuna and sweet potato nuggets for your canine companion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mashed sweet potato
  • 1 (5 ounce) can tuna in water, drained
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the mashed sweet potato, drained tuna, and egg. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add the whole wheat flour, mixing until a firm dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour, one tablespoon at a time.
  4. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  5. Use a small cookie cutter or a knife to cut the dough into nugget shapes.
  6. Place the nuggets on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until firm and lightly golden.
  8. Allow the nuggets to cool completely before serving to your dog.

Notes

  • Store leftover nuggets in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • You can freeze these nuggets for longer storage. Thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
  • Adjust the amount of flour as needed to achieve the right dough consistency.
