Homemade, healthy crackers for your dog made with sweet potato and parsley.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sweet potato puree
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup oat flour
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the sweet potato puree, whole wheat flour, oat flour, chopped parsley, and olive oil. Mix until a stiff dough forms.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  4. Cut the dough into small cracker shapes using a cookie cutter or a knife.
  5. Place the crackers on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crackers are firm and lightly golden.
  7. Turn off the oven and let the crackers cool completely inside the oven with the door slightly ajar. This helps them dry out and become crisp.
  8. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

  • Ensure the sweet potato is cooked and pureed before measuring.
  • You can substitute whole wheat flour with gluten-free flour for a gluten-free option.
  • Adjust baking time based on your oven and cracker thickness for desired crispness.
