- 1 cup pumpkin puree (plain, not pie filling)
- 1/2 cup peanut butter (xylitol-free)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup water
- Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease a small loaf pan or muffin tin.
- In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree and peanut butter until well combined.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time.
- Stir in the baking soda and water until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan or muffin tin.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes for muffins, or 30-35 minutes for a loaf pan, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely before serving to your dog.
Notes
- Ensure your peanut butter does not contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
- You can add a tablespoon of shredded carrots or unsweetened applesauce for extra flavor and nutrients.
- Store any leftover cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
