A simple and healthy cake recipe for your dog, made with pumpkin and peanut butter.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (plain, not pie filling)
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (xylitol-free)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease a small loaf pan or muffin tin.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree and peanut butter until well combined.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  4. Stir in the baking soda and water until the batter is smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan or muffin tin.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes for muffins, or 30-35 minutes for a loaf pan, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool completely before serving to your dog.

Notes

  • Ensure your peanut butter does not contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
  • You can add a tablespoon of shredded carrots or unsweetened applesauce for extra flavor and nutrients.
  • Store any leftover cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
