Simple homemade biscuits for your dog with cranberries and oatmeal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup water, or as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, rolled oats, and chopped dried cranberries.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the unsweetened applesauce and vegetable oil.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a stiff dough forms. Add a little more water if the dough is too dry, or a little more flour if it is too sticky.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness.
  6. Cut out biscuits using a cookie cutter.
  7. Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and firm.
  9. Let the biscuits cool completely before serving to your dog.

Notes

  • Store cooled biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or in the refrigerator for longer storage.
  • You can substitute whole wheat flour with oat flour or brown rice flour for a gluten-free option.
  • Ensure cranberries are unsweetened and do not contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
