Ingredients
Scale
1 cup cooked shredded chicken
1 cup cooked white rice
1/2 cup pumpkin puree (plain, unsweetened)
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/4 cup whole wheat flour (or oat flour for gluten-free)
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken, cooked white rice, pumpkin puree, and unsweetened applesauce.
Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
Gradually add the whole wheat flour (or oat flour), mixing until a dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour, one tablespoon at a time.
Roll the dough into small, bite-sized balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
Place the energy bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until firm.
Allow the energy bites to cool completely before serving or storing.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
These can also be frozen for longer storage.
Adjust the size of the bites based on your dog’s size.
