  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup pearl barley
  • 1 cup chopped carrots
  • 1 cup chopped green beans
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 4 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in pearl barley, carrots, green beans, and celery.
  4. Pour in beef broth and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 45-60 minutes, or until barley is tender and vegetables are cooked through.
  6. Let the stew cool completely before serving to your dog.
