- 1 lb ground beef

- 1/4 cup cooked peas, mashed
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup whole wheat flour (or gluten-free alternative)
- Preheat your oven to 300ยฐF (150ยฐC).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, mashed sweet potato, mashed carrot, mashed peas, and egg. Mix well.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until a dough forms.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness.
- Cut the dough into strips, about 1/2 inch wide and 6 inches long.
- Place the strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until firm and dry.
- Turn off the oven and let the chew sticks cool completely inside the oven with the door slightly ajar. This helps them dry out thoroughly.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Notes
- Ensure all vegetables are cooked and mashed before adding to the dough.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef.
- Adjust baking time based on your oven and desired chewiness.
